Cape {town} Etc recently took part in the Stellenbosch Wine Tractor Tasting Experience, a unique tour that highlights some of the most stunning wine estates nestled in the Helderberg region.

The excursion offered an indulgence in a variety of exceptional wines while providing picturesque views of South Africa’s renowned wine country.
The Wine Tasting Experience follows a hop-on, hop-off format, visiting eight of Stellenbosch’s top wine farms, all situated in the celebrated ‘Golden Triangle’—a region famous for producing some of South Africa’s finest wines.
Our journey began at the Eikendal Vineyard, where we were greeted with a welcome tasting, allowing us to choose between a crisp white or rich red wine as we prepared for departure. Once aboard the tractor, we embarked on a scenic ride through the vineyards, passing award-winning Nguni cattle and blue cranes, with breathtaking landscapes unfolding before us.
From Eikendal, we visited several other renowned estates, including Grangehurst, Longridge, Avontuur, Peter Falke, and Webersburg, before returning to Eikendal. Each stop lasted 75 minutes, giving us ample time to savor the estate’s distinctive wines, enjoy food pairings, and take in the magnificent surroundings.
A highlight of the experience was the knowledgeable guides, who shared fascinating details about each estate, enriching our understanding of the region’s wine heritage.
