The City of Cape Town officially welcomed the competing nations to Cape Town during a flag ceremony last Friday, hoisting the flags of each participating nation.
All 16 competing nations have arrived in the Mother City and training sessions are well underway.
This week, the teams focus on their physicality and tactics in preparation for a true test of diverse play as the margins between the top nations are at their narrowest.
With the top five ranked teams – Australia, New Zealand, England, Jamaica, and South Africa – being fan favourites, all eyes are on the SPAR Proteas as they compete with home ground advantage.
