The latest technology will help users navigate trails in the Plettenberg Bay, Tsitsikamma and Harkerville areas while informing them of hiking, walking and MTB routes that are popular and not so well-known.
The app is compatible with both Android and iOS, and consists of 26 hiking trails.
According to the Knysna-Plett Herald, “Users of the app are privy to trail information, their difficulty grading, skills required and trail classification.”
Sixteen of the trails are accredited under the Green Flag Trails programme, which enhances public awareness of and confidence in trails.
The first Green Flag mountain bike trail in the world can also be explored using the app.
The app offers the following trail information:
- Trail condition updates
- Distance
- Contact information for nature officials in the area
