Here in the Mother City, we’re in no shortage of coffee stops, trucks and cafés that have kept many of us going, and coming back time and time again. This time, the spotlight is on the ‘little guys’. Here are 4 tiny Cape Town cafés that hold a big place in our hearts:

1. Rosetta Roastery

If you haven’t already had the pleasure of a sit down at Rosetta, this is your sign to visit Bree Street’s tiny favourite. As an award-winning speciality coffee roastry, Rosetta understands that each cuppa’ has its own personality. The baristas are a wealth of knowledge when it comes to the inquisitive coffee connoisseurs, so you’ll easily be served a cup of wisdom too.

Bask in the Cape Town sun outside, or find a seat inside (there aren’t many, but when you do find a spot it’s well worth it) and enjoy one of Cape Town’s finest coffee finds.

2. Ground Art Caffe

Not only is Ground Art Caffe home to some of the best coffee in the city, but it is also a tiny art gallery, hence the fitting title. Small, intimate and surrounded by art, Ground Art Caffe is the perfect place to hop to if you seek a beautiful space to talk for hours over a delightfully prepared cuppa’ – and appreciate the art on exhibition while you’re at it.

3. Cafe Chiffon

De Waterkant’s latest hotspot, Japenese Bakery, Cafe Chiffon, is everything a sweet tooth could ever desire. Boasting a changing menu filled with cheesecakes, macaroon-styled treats and of course Chiffon Cake (the Earl Grey tea-infused version is a must-try!). Chiffon boasts a minimalist, tiny interior that’s perfect for anyone who likes a cosy feel. As for coffee, Chiffon makes a delicious cup that’s almost the size of the restaurant.
