Qatar Airways and Kenya Airways have announced a significant expansion of their partnership with the launch of codeshare flights to 19 destinations, with plans for additional locations on the horizon.
Starting from 26 October 2025, Kenya Airways customers will be able to book codeshare flights between Nairobi and Doha, facilitating seamless travel connections through the world-renowned Hamad International Airport, recognised as the ‘Best Airport in the Middle East’ for 11 consecutive years.
This partnership will initially offer flights to 10 exciting destinations beyond Doha, while Qatar Airways passengers will gain access to eight key locations in Kenya Airways’ network, all connecting through the airlines’ three daily flights from Doha to Nairobi.
Qatar Airways’ Chief Commercial Officer, Thierry Antinori, expressed enthusiasm about the partnership’s progress, stating, ‘We are pleased with the significant progress made in just a few months since the partnership initiated with Kenya Airways. This enhancement is a testament to the collaborative efforts which further strengthen our presence in Kenya and the African continent.’
He also highlighted the introduction of Qatar Airways’ third daily flight to Nairobi as a pivotal aspect of the growing partnership, driven by increasing demand for reliable and efficient travel options.

Echoing Antinori’s sentiments, Julius Thairu, Kenya Airways’ Chief Commercial and Customer Officer, remarked, ‘We are excited to embark on this new chapter of our partnership with Qatar Airways. This partnership will significantly enhance connectivity, especially across Africa, the Middle East, and Asia.’
Thairu emphasised the partnership’s potential to broaden flight offerings and present new travel opportunities for their customers.
This announcement comes as a crucial move for Qatar Airways to extend its footprint within the African continent.
Passengers from over 170 global destinations will now enjoy easier access to vital leisure and business sites served by Kenya Airways, including prominent destinations like Lilongwe, Livingstone, Juba, Nampula, Ndola, and Victoria Falls.
Moreover, Kenya Airways’ travellers will benefit from new connections to multiple destinations across ten countries throughout Asia and the Middle East via Hamad International Airport. Some of these coveted locations include Bahrain, Colombo, Islamabad, Karachi, Malé, Tokyo Narita, and Singapore, further opening up global travel options.
As an added benefit, members of Qatar Airways’ Privilege Club will be able to earn Avios on codeshare flights operated by Kenya Airways, offering loyal customers even more incentives to take advantage of this growing partnership.
