South Africa’s first AI travel planner Siyanda now answers travellers’ questions about the country, reports Cape {town} Etc.

According to Travel Weekly, the tool can plan full itineraries or answer specific questions on safaris, hikes, restaurants and heritage sites.
It draws on South African Tourism data and more than 1000 GuideGeek integrations to give timely, local answers.
‘Siyanda helps travellers quickly go from being curious about South Africa to planning and booking their ideal trip,’ said Matador Network chief executive Ross Borden.
Siyanda runs on Matador Network’s GuideGeek chat platform. The platform won recognition for its use of AI, an accolade that underlines the tool’s industry credibility.
‘The name Siyanda is from Xhosa and means ‘We are growing. We are increasing,” said Darryl Erasmus, chief operations officer at South African Tourism.
The assistant targets North American travellers and travel advisers. It is available around the clock to suggest routes, tailor lodges and flag seasonal wildlife sights.
Travel advisers can use Siyanda to sharpen their local knowledge and save time when building bespoke trips. The tool aims to enhance human planning, not replace it.
