Some 20 000 performers lit up the streets of Cape Town’s city centre at the 2024 Tweede Nuwe Jaar Minstrel Street Parade.

This iconic event, organised by the Kaapse Klopse Karnival Association, started in District Six at noon yesterday, drawing roughly 80 000 spectators to the CBD in sweltering conditions.
