Discover Cape Town’s dynamic, impressive and growing art scene with a customised tour by Culture Connect SA.
This Friday’s tour will take you to some of Cape Town’s most recent street art and murals, which were created for this year and last year’s International Public Art Festival. There will be brief stops along the way to look at and learn about significant and easily overlooked public art created over the years.

Kate Crane Briggs founded Culture Connect SA in 2012. The company organises art, design and architecture-related events and tours.
Kate either takes the lead or finds another expert, depending on the tour. Landmarks, galleries, collections, studios and the route are all carefully chosen to accommodate preferences and time constraints.
When it comes to Cape Town’s street art scene, scale, subject matter and style vary greatly, with artworks ranging from massive, brightly coloured walls on busy streets to tucked-away, small and discreet illustrations and paintings.
Kate will lead the street art tour and use her knowledge as a city tour guide to add context and interest.
Culture Connect SA tours don’t just provide facts and background information; they also stimulate conversations about social history and everyday life here, providing context and meaning.
Extensive research is undertaken ahead of time on what guests will see, and oftentimes background information is provided in advance.
For Friday’s tour, guests are to meet in the restaurant by the reception desk of the Fire & Ice Protea Hotel. The duration of the tour is approximately two hours and will conclude with an optional lunch at Swan Café, voted one of the 10 most Instagrammable cafés in the world by Lifestyle Asia.
