The City of Cape Town’s libraries and recreation facilities are preparing to keep young brains occupied over the September school holiday. There is no need to be bored when there are so many activities to participate in, Cape {town} Etc reports.

Schools will close this Friday, 20 September and resume on Tuesday, 1 October.
‘The September holiday may be shorter, but that doesn’t mean there’s not much to do. Our facilities are gearing up with a busy line-up of activities that cater for all age groups, whether you prefer to be inside, or out and about in the sun. I want to encourage our learners to enjoy the break and visit our libraries and recreation centres,’ said Mayoral Committee Patricia van der Ross, Member of Community Services and Health.

Libraries host an obstacle course, arts and crafts, and talks from several City departments, the Iziko Museum, and the National Sea Rescue Institute. At the City’s leisure centres, children can participate in indoor and outdoor sports, as well as traditional and board games.
September and reopen on Tuesday, 1 October.
