You’ve finally arrived in Cape Town, one of the greatest cities in the world, and can’t wait to see its incredible attractions. You charge your camera, make your way to your first stop and see that there is a line as long as day at the ticket office. This could put a damper on your holiday exploring.
While these mild inconveniences are a part of travel, it would be nice if they were lessened. Enter the iVenture City Pass card. iVenture is an international tourism initiative that makes it easier to go sightseeing. It is incorporated in major cities all over the world, like London, Barcelona, Dubai, Hong Kong and as of yesterday Cape Town. iVenture has been brought to the Mother City in partnership with Cape Town Tourism and will make sightseeing so much easier.
So what is it?
The iVenture City Pass is a smart card which you purchase before you set off exploring.Rather than booking everything online and keeping track of your various tickets, this singels card you gain access to 60 attractions all over the Cape. The attractions include places like the City Sightseeing Bus, Cape Wheel, Table Mountain Cableway and the Two Oceans Aquarium.
One of the biggest debates surrounding Cape Town tourism is access for locals. The prices at some places are too expensive for locals to enjoy. The iVenture City Pass can save you up to 40% in entrance fees, making these attractions more accessible to Capetonians who do not have dollars and euros at their disposal.
This is particularly important to stimulate the tourism industry according to Shadow Minister of Tourism James Vos. He says that the industry will thrive when everyone, including locals, support it. Initiatives like iVenture helps with access, allowing more people to enjoy sightseeing.
There are three passes on offer, a Flexi Pass, Unlimited Pass and Unlimited Premium Pass.
