In spite of the increasing temperatures and current heat wave, the Mother City’s dam levels have continued to increase, reaching 76.2% as of today.

Some areas of the Western Cape will reach temperatures as high as 41°C today, but dams level remain unaffected.

This time last year, water storage was at a drasticically low 37.8% compared to the current bountiful supply.

Last week, water levels were slightly negatively affected by the warm weather but the weekend has surprisingly pushed levels up again.

Residents have, however, been warned of a heat wave that is currently making its way through the Cape, bringing with it excessively high temperatures which could cause veld fires.

The rest of the week will also bring nothing but warm weather and sunshine.
