Charl du Plessis Trio brings Bach and Beatles magic to Vergelegen this June

A magical night of music awaits at Vergelegen wine estate in Somerset West, where the award-winning Charl du Plessis Trio will perform their latest genre-blending production, Bach & Beatles, on Thursday, 12 June 2025.

Set in the estate’s striking glass conservatory, the performance promises a masterful fusion of classical, jazz, and pop as the trio reimagines timeless compositions by Johann Sebastian Bach and iconic Beatles hits. Guests can expect fresh takes on classics like Yesterday, Hey Jude, and A Hard Day’s Night, alongside renowned Bach pieces including Toccata in D minor, Air on the G String, and Jesu, Joy of Man’s Desiring.

Formed in 2006, the Charl du Plessis Trio – consisting of pianist Charl du Plessis, bassist Werner Spies, and drummer Peter Auret – has carved out a distinctive space in crossover music. With four South African Music Awards, a Ghoema, and a kykNET Fiësta under their belt, the group has wowed audiences across Southern Africa, Europe, and Asia.
