Franschhoek Classic Car Festival celebrates motoring heritage

October 3 - October 4

Franschoek Classic Car Festival

Franschhoek gets into gear this October as the Classic Car Festival returns to the valley on 3 and 4 October 2026, bringing a weekend of motoring heritage, good food and plenty to explore back to one of South Africa’s most scenic towns.

This year’s festival spans two iconic venues. Saturday’s programme is held at the Huguenot Monument, with a special celebration of 75 years of Formula One among the curated displays, alongside beautifully restored classics and rare marques. The signature ‘Forty of the Finest’ display returns too, featuring forty cars from forty different brands, with anniversary showcases for Volkswagen SA (75 years), Mercedes-Benz (100 years) and the Land Rover Series/Defender lineup. The Rivals Tour parade will also feature, showcasing a 1960s Alfa Giulietta, Porsche 356 and MGA, along with the arrival of the SA 4000 Tour.

Sunday moves to the Franschhoek Motor Museum at L’Ormarins, where the Formula One tribute continues with a car from a championship-winning team and a nod to South Africa’s own 1979 world champion, Jody Scheckter. A special anniversary showcase celebrating 50 years of the BMW 3 Series will also be on display, along with access to the museum’s updated exhibits.

Ticket prices are R200 for Saturday general admission, R250 for Sunday general admission, and R400 for a weekend pass. Entry is free for under-18s accompanied by an adult with a valid ticket. Tickets are available via Webtickets.
