Celebrating Young Voices at the Shakespeare Schools Festival

The Shakespeare Schools Festival began in 2010. Its goal is to connect the Arts and Education. At its heart, the festival is an educational program. It helps young people build language and social skills.

We use theatre to inspire change. Shakespeare’s timeless stories offer the perfect stage for learning and growth. The festival brings together children from many backgrounds. Through drama, they discover confidence, teamwork, and self-expression. Since starting, the festival has grown across Southern Africa. It is now the largest Shakespeare youth drama program on the continent.

Over the years, we’ve partnered with 490 schools and reached 9000 young people. More than 670 teachers have taken part. The festival runs in the Western Cape, Gauteng, KwaZulu-Natal, and the Eastern Cape. Each year, the impact deepens and expands.

Through theatre, we see lives transformed. This is more than performance. It is education with purpose, and creativity with heart.
