Sofía Jirau, a 24-year-old Puerto Rican, recently took to Instagram to share the exciting news that she has become the first Victoria’s Street model with Down syndrome.

“One day I dreamt it, I worked at it and today it’s a dream come true. I can finally share my big secret. I am the first model with Down syndrome for Victoria (sic) Secret!” reads a translation of her post.
“Thank you to all of you who always supported my projects. Thank you Victoria’s Secret for seeing a model in me… and making me part of the inclusion campaign Love Cloud Collection. This is just the beginning!” she adds.
Jirau has been strutting her stuff in modelling since 2019 and became one of the few models with Down syndrome to walk in New York Fashion Week, CNN reports. She has also been featured in People, Univision and Vogue Mexico.

Speaking on the evolution of the brand in a statement, the new creative director, Raúl Martinez said: “Love Cloud Collection is a major moment in the brand’s evolution. From the cast of incredible women that bring the collection to life, to the incredible inclusive spirit on set, this campaign is an important part of the new Victoria’s Secret standard we are creating.”
The campaign highlights 18 women who reject limits placed on them by others, said Jirau, adding that “On the inside and out, there are no limits.”
