Police allege he charged at officers and arrested him on suspicion of battery of a police officer. Paramedics took him to a local hospital for evaluation amid concerns about a possible drug overdose. He was later released from medical care and processed at a nearby jail, according to local reports.
The 26-year-old, born Montero Lamar Hill, rose to global fame with the viral hit Old Town Road. He has won multiple Grammys and broke a record with Old Town Road on the Billboard chart. Fans expressed concern on social media, urging privacy and support for the artist.
