TikTok is taking a leaf out of Gatsby’s optimistic trajectory as it continues to “keep going up”.
The latest positive trajectory for the video-driven platform comes after it beat Google for the most popular site visited this year.
It was a close call for a while, as TikTok and Google jested for first place in the last few months of 2021. By October, Google was still at number one. However, the king has fallen – along with some other massive contenders.
TikTok cruised past Amazon, Apple, Facebook, Microsoft and Netflix, according to the tech report produced by web security company Cloudaflare.
To put this position of first place into perspective, this news means that TikTok beat out the creme of the crops of online shopping, news in the form of Google News, travel via Maps, and language in terms of Google Translate.
Google now sits in second place, whilst Facebook rests in third.
If anything, the news indicates that it might just be time to take TikTok a little more seriously for those who don’t quite understand the platform, or at the very least hop on the bandwagon and see what this digital empire is all about.
