Grammy award-winning singer Toni Braxton is making her way down to South Africa in November, where she will perform in the Mother City for one night only. Be prepared for a night filled with classics such as He Wasn’t Man Enough and Un-Break My Heart.

The last few years have been trying for the songbird, as her health has fluctuated with her positive Lupus diagnosis. Lupus is a chronic, autoimmune disease, causing inflammation to a person’s internal organs, joints and skin. Lupus is not contagious and may be caused by a number of factors, including hormones, genetics and one’s environment, according to the Lupus Foundation of America. The exact cause of the disease is still unknown. She has had to cancel several shows as a result because it affects her high-energy performances.

“There have been moments when I felt defeated; felt I let myself down,” she says. “Even if I fail, music gives me enough strength to try something different. I’ve come full circle – yet there are still so many things to do.”
