Christmas is coming early this year as MCQP are bringing their very first “Christmas in July” party on Friday 28 July 2017 to the German Club in Gardens. If you’ve always wanted a snowy, white Christmas, then look no further as MCQP is hosting the winter wonderland you could only ever dream of.

What’s more is the theme and venue for the much anticipated 2017 MCQP event taking place on 16 December, will be announced at the July Christmas affair Previously, details about Africa’s biggest costume party were only revealed in October.

MCQP Director, Ian McMahon, says there’s a reason for announcing the details 3 months earlier than usual, “We always listen to our MCQP fans. Many have expressed that they need more time to prepare their outfits, and especially as more and more out-of-towners are attending the event every year, they also need to properly plan their travel arrangements. And the, we’re going bigger, better and bolder than ever before, with a big part due to famed DJ and event organised Candice Heyns joining our team for this year’s event.”

Heyns has toured Europe extensively, both as a DJ and assisting in arranging some of the biggest events in an array of European countries, before returning to Cape Town.

Heyns, who is also the Executive Project Manager of MCQP, says that the event will provide the perfect Christmas scenario, “We’ve got snow machines showering the entrance and one of the dance floors with snowflakes, and the venue spectacularly decorated with over 100 Christmas trees – even some hanging from the ceiling. So if you’ve never seen snow, you have to be there.

She also says that the event hasn’t forgotten the magic of a South African Christmas, and will be incorporating the best parts to the venue too, “But of course, we didn’t forget our very own heritage in how we celebrate Christmas in SA, so the second dance floor will be a summer Christmas experience with all things green. Believe me, you’ll be blown away, and this event will only be a hint of what is coming in December for our main MCQP party.”

Heyns promises that although the announcement of the theme and venue for MCQP 2017 will be one the many highlights and main attractions, the Christmas party fever will rule the night. She adds, “One of the dance floors with be dedicated to commercial, high energy and progressive music. The other to deep house, disco and techno. So we’re catering for all tastes. We are using non other than Funkion one for our main Hall and the Red Bull Sound system for our white winter wonderland.”

Director McMahon says that although Father Christmas will be there on the evening handing out random gifts to attendees, they are encouraging guests to bring a gift for a child that will be donated to the Red Cross Children’s Hospital.

The entire evening at the MCQP Christmas in July party will be dedicated to nonstop entertainment with comedians, live acts, dancers and top name local and international DJ’s. Expect names like internal DJ Groove from Thailand, as well as DJ’s Douglas Olsen vs. Miss CJ, Tommy Gun, DYI and Beanovs Dave Irish.
