The Summer Menu at Shimmy typically features light, healthy options, appropriate to the season. To heat things up, Shimmy has launched a fresh winter menu, with about 90% new offerings. Comfort food is the key word here. Passionate about fare that makes one happy, Chef Adrian Cook has developed meals that you will love sharing with friends and family.
Arrive hungry because the tempting selection and the generous portion sizes of the starters alone indicate that a culinary treat awaits. The fragrant Venison and Leek Ragout in vol-au-vent on a pea purée, with a garden of spicy vegetables blew my mind.
It’s difficult to choose from the mains. Lamb Shank pot pie, seared Indonesian marinated Tuna Steak, and cider braised Pork Belly are all flavourful perfection.
In the desserts section, A Savoury Sunday stands out as a sweet and savoury blend from heaven. Crispy maple bacon, Parmesan biscotti, toasted pecan nuts, salted caramel with white chocolate fudge and honey rosemary ice cream complement each other perfectly.
Another after-dinner indulgence is the gorgeous new Hennessy box. Smoky, bitter, and sweet flavours infuse in a sinful way to warm you up this winter. In the box, you will find a chocolate cigar, three chocolate truffles, and a thick and rich Hennessy hot chocolate drink. A serving of Hennessey Cognac, either XO or VSOP end things smoothly.
