The rainy season has arrived in full force and Capetonians can expect another three days of rain this coming week.

Cape Town received some much-needed have downpours recently and the rainy days just keep coming.

Locals can expect scattered showers and chilly weather from Thursday until Sunday in the new week.

Thursday will kick off these rainy days with a high of 17°C and lows of 12°C with scattered showers predicted for throughout the day. Friday will follow suit with highs of 15°C and lows of 11°C as well as a 50% chance of precipitation.

Saturday will be a partly cloudy day with a 20% chance of rain, highs of 16°C  and lows of 10°C, leading into Sunday which will end the week off with more scattered showers, highs of 17°C and lows of 11°C.

As far as dam levels are concerned the Mother City is experiencing a steady increase with storage levels slowly pushing back up to the 50% mark.

Dam levels as of June 21 stand at 49% overall, with the lowest dams being Steenbras Lower 38.9% full and Wemmershoek 39.9% full.

With three rainy days this week, many are looking forward to total water storage reaching the 50 percentile once again.

Locals are advised to drive carefully over the rainy days, bring an umbrella along on their daily commute and simply enjoy the showers the city has been thirsting for.
