The first signs of winter arrived in the Western Cape today as predicted. Snow settled on the Brandwag Mountain near Worcester, as well as rain and sleet and even some hail. Matroosberg near Ceres also received light snow.

Residents took to social media to share pictures of the snow:

Some more cold, rain and wind is predicted for the next few days until Friday, according to Accuweather.  A severe weather warning was also issued, including gale force winds and a storm surge tonight [May 25] and disruptive snowfall for tomorrow, May 26.
