The Gift of the Givers, a non-profit organisation that operates across South Africa, has bid farewell to long-time volunteer Imraan Mohamed after he died as a result of COVID-19. According to the organisation, Mohamed passed away within three weeks of the deaths of his brother and father.

“It is with great sadness we announce the passing of our dear friend, Gift of the Givers team member, builder, committed volunteer and driving force in the South Coast, Imraan Mohamed, who lost the fight to COVID-19” the organisation said. “We remember his smile, dedication, generosity, warm nature and passion to serve.”

Gift of the Givers said Mohamed was always keen to help those who needed it, and this made him invaluable to the organisation.

“Our deepest condolences to his wife Amarah and all family members.”

Condolences poured in following the news of Mohamed’s death.

My condolences to you and the family. May Allah grant him jannatul firdaus. Ameen,” one social media user said. 

“May Allah grant uncle Haroon janatul firdos inshallah ameen and grant your family sabr. In our duas,” another commented.
