Cavendish Square announced that they have been advised to temporarily close their doors for trade on Thursday, 15 July. According to the Claremont-based shopping mall, this decision was made in the best interest of all shoppers and tenants as the situation in South Africa still remains volatile.
Since then, management provided an update that essential stores such as Woolworths and Pick n Pay have reopened today at 12 noon. They have apologised for any inconvenience while thanking customers for their understanding.
Meanwhile Premier Alan Winde confirmed that SAPS and Metro Police responded to the alleged protest action in Muizenberg yesterday evening, and calm has been restored since.
