Do you remember the two young girls who brought their puppy to the Animal Welfare Society of SA, and surrendered their packet of Nik Naks in exchange for the health care of their beloved pet?
On Thursday afternoon, July 22, Nik-Naks kept their promise to the girls for their generosity and rewarded Marline and Denika Karsten with two enormous boxes of nutritious non-perishable food items, several hundred packets of Nik Naks and R5000 worth of brand new clothing and shoes.
“We are “hopeless” at keeping secrets (only kidding) but wanted to surprise the sisters who have been waiting patiently for the arrival of Nik Naks”, says the Animal Welfare Society of SA.
The word spread faster than lightning that there was a strange vehicle driving down the potholed road that leads to the residence of the sisters who already gathered outside, filled with excitement and anticipation of what they hoped was a visit from Nik Naks.
“To say the wait was worth it would be an understatement as the two girls tried on their new shoes, warm puffer jackets and munched away on Nik Naks whilst their Dad carried the boxes of food into their house.”
As the Animal Welfare Society of SA left, all of the children from the community gate crashed the celebration and excitedly indulged in the spoils of beaming bright yellow smiles.
