Plett Rage has always been a rite of passage for matriculants who are eager to put their school days behind them by chugging a few buckets and dancing the week away.
Unfortunately, 2020 was a not-so-great year for matrics as the COVID-19 pandemic ensured that their dancing shoes remained firmly in their cupboards. However, the popular week-long festival is making a revival, but with one condition – “no vax, no entry.”
According to IOL, organisers will be welcoming party-goers in December with two four-day events, a slight deviation from their regular week-long schedule. However, this is to ensure that COVID numbers remain low considering last year’s spread that took place at Durban Rage 2020.
Further safety measures have been put in place for festival-goers, as those who have pre-booked will need to arrive at the event with a negative PCR test and proof of vaccination, reports News24. As an additional precaution, they will be tested again before they enter the venue, and each day of the event after that, which will be at Plett Rage’s expense.
Plett Rage will be limited to between 500 to 1000 people. However, this will depend on Disaster Management Act regulations pertaining to gatherings and outdoor events at the time.
Bookings are set to go live from September 1.
