The Gauteng Health Department has stated that it will be taking legal action against the Independent Media group over the serious allegations made against nurses, doctors and state hospitals with regards to the Tembisa 10, reports News24.
The explosive allegations were made by Independent Media during a live press conference on Wednesday, October 27.
According to a statement released by the Gauteng government, they cannot “stand by while serious allegations are made against nurses, doctors, hospital management and health officials.”
“The provincial government has instructed the State Attorney to institute legal action against the Independent Media group.
“A senior counsel has been briefed and court papers will be served on the Independent Media in due course.”
However, the media group stands by its findings and “invites” the legal actions, as per IOL.
The press conference was held to answer questions regarding the infamous story written about the mysterious Tembisa decuplets. According to Independent Media’s findings, doctors and nurses have been complicit in the delivery and cover-up of the decuplets’ birth. The investigation also indicates that human trafficking appears to be at the centre of the story.

Chairperson Iqbal Surve states that the media house has been consistently threatened with legal action by the government as they continue to probe into the story of the Tembisa 10.
“We ignored all of them. We invited them to summons us,” states Surve.
“To government I say, it is okay to make mistakes. It is not okay to cover it up. Put systems in place to prevent human and baby trafficking. Suspend the Gauteng MEC of health and social development, those hospital CEOs. Look into the health department.
“We cannot be the epicentre for human and baby trafficking,” he continued.
