YouTuber Suttons Daze shared her version of pickled brussels sprouts, and if you’re bold enough to give this a go, then follow this recipe:
Ingredients:
- Brussel sprouts
- 1 to 2 cloves of garlic (per jar)
- A quarter teaspoon of crushed red pepper flakes (per jar)
For the brine:
- 5 cups of white vinegar
- 5 cups of water
- 7 tablespoons of pickling salt
1. Clean your Brussels sprouts by trimming them (remove the tip of the stem from each of the sprouts. Then, cut them in half).
2. Soak them into the water (with a small amount of salt) and leave for 15 minutes.
3. Add 1 or 2 cloves of garlic per jar, and then add crushed red pepper flakes.
4. Fill the jars with sprouts (leave some headspace in case it spills once you add water).
5. For the brine, put the 5 cups of white vinegar, 5 cups of water, and 7 tablespoons of pickling salt together (make sure it’s hot when you pour it into the jar).
6. You have to wait for about two. weeks before you could open and enjoy eating them. But if you couldn’t wait to try them, two days is already enough.
