Festive season is meant to be a time of good cheer and celebration, but it’s a devastating time for the families of three people, who were shot and killed on Sunday night in Grassy Park.
Detectives attached to the Anti-Gang unit are investigating the circumstances surrounding the death a 40-year-old female and two males aged 56 and 36.
This comes after they were shot and killed by unknown gunmen on the corners of Lake Road and 6th avenue in Grassy Park at around 19:50. The suspects fled the scene and are yet to be arrested, said Colonel Andrè Traut.
According to News24, a little girl also sustained a bullet wound to her face in suspected gang violence about a kilometre away. Any person with information is kindly requested to call Crime Stop on 08600 101111.
Meanwhile, a clear message was delivered by the Police Minister Gen Bheki Cele while addressing SAPS members during the #SaferFestiveSeason Inspection Tour in Cape Town.
Cele called on them to saturate the province and squeeze out criminality in all corners of the province, and also urged them to respond promptly to distress calls, while prioritising women and children.
