The natural beauty of orchids speaks to my soul writes Cape {town} Etc’s Micayla Vellai. Gorgeous colour variations, delicate stems – a magnificent sight to behold. To gaze upon an orchid at your local salon encourages a relaxing atmosphere, and these beauties are even making their way into the homes of enthusiasts on birthdays and special occasions.
If you find yourself getting excited at the thought of a bounty of exotic and unusual orchids, your dreams are about to be realised. Cue the Cape Orchid Society’s first spectacular show for the year.
Founded in 1957, this society strives to bring together those interested in orchids in order to promote and encourage the culture, preservation, propagation and hybridisation of these stunning plants.
Hundreds of orchids will be on sale to liven up your home, or as a thoughtful gift for a loved one. This is a wonderful opportunity for budding orchid enthusiasts to add some beauty to their orchid collections.
