The Platteklip Gorge trail up Table Mountain is a leg and lung buster. But views from the top are reward enough for everyone to have to give a go — at least once in a lifetime. But, if you’re crazy enough, you can always take on the 2022 Cableway Charity Challenge.
Walking up Platteklip is a serious achievement. Racing up Platteklip is taking things to another level. But doing it, again and again, is just wild. And this is what the challenge demands…
The Cableway Charity Challenge is a unique fundraising event. Runners undertake to ascend Platteklip Gorge as many times as possible on Race Day, over a 12-hour period. You read right: “as many times as possible”.
Thank goodness – a rest! Runners are granted free passage on all downward cable car trips, offering a breather between ascents.
Entrants will compete as part of corporate teams or as individuals. Entries are closed for 2022, but the Cape Town community still has time to sponsor a runner.
Funds are raised by runners via sponsorship pledges from friends, family and colleagues, in an easy to follow the process. Back a runner here.
