The largest dedicated African animation festival, Cape Town International Animation Festival (CTIAF), is one of the signature events of FAME Week Africa. Taking place in Cape Town at the Cape Town International Convention Centre (CTICC) from 24 August to 26 August. The upcoming FAME Week Africa celebrates African talent, innovation, creativity and inspiration.

This year’s CTIAF celebrates its 10th year. CTIAF is renowned for presenting world-class content as well as an opportunity to engage with global industry leaders. Its aim is to bring together events focusing on film, television and animation as well as music, and entertainment technology, with plans to add more creative industries in the future.
Creative enthusiasts across the Mother City are invited to join the animation-focused programme for three days forming part of Fame Week Africa. This year’s event will have a strong business-to-business focal point to assist creatives, creative producers and storytellers connect with agents, distributors, producers interested in co-productions, investors and other creative partnerships.
Furthermore, keeping top of mind the creation and exchanging of ideas, concepts and trends as well as tackling the important and strategic issues of transformation in the industry.

CTIAF Festival Director Dianne Makings said, “CTIAF’s success is a reflection of the industry that it serves. In 2022 we’ve seen an explosion of productions in South Africa and studios are growing rapidly. Being included as a signature event at FAME Week Africa is a natural extension of this growth.”

Emerging creatives can look forward to multiple opportunities to pitch in one-on-one as well as a larger pitching competition with a panel of international judges. Over the three-day programme, attendees can enjoy screenings, WIP talks, workshops, dedicated networking sessions and a program of creative, producer and technical-focused Keynotes from Netflix, DNEG, Autodesk and Object Matrix.
