In Italian culture, an aperitivo is a pre-dinner drink, a cultural ritual set for the late afternoon or early evening, between work and dinner. In etymology, we trace the word back to the Latin aperire, which loosely translates to “open” the stomach before dining.
The family-run estate has launched this new offering set for Thursday, Friday and Saturday, where Italian-inspired light bites and unrivalled mountain views offer the perfect setting to enjoy their award-winning wine collection.
Morgenster Estate has seen a need to present locals and guests from afar with the opportunity to soak in the glorious surroundings, with later-than-usual operating hours in the area and a view they believe is too good not to share in time for summer sunsets.
Visitors can choose to enjoy the experience in the estate’s tasting room or spill out onto the terrace area to enjoy the last of the sunshine, overlooking the dam and beautiful nature all around.
Aperitivo is served as a small selection of Italian-inspired snacks that change with the seasons and cost R65 per person.
The snacks are best paired with any of the Morgenster Estate wines, which you can buy by the bottle or by the glass.
A perfect recipe for post-5pm happiness.
Reservations are required, with the last booking at 6pm.
