The results have shown 148 votes in favour of the report, 214 votes against it, and two abstentions.
ANC president aspirant Nkosazana Dlamini-Zuma was one of only four ANC members of Parliament to have voted in favour of adopting the Phala Phala report and moving forward with a thorough investigation into the impeachment of President Cyril Ramaphosa.
Dlamini Zuma’s vote in favour of the Section 89 report has drawn harsh criticism from other ANC MPs.
The other three members who voted in favour were ANC MPs Supra Mahumapelo, Mosebenzi Zwane, and Mervyn Dirks.
Zweli Mkhize of the ANC and Minister Lindiwe Sisulu, who called for the president to resign, didn’t appear to be present for the vote in Parliament.
Even though he was among those calling for Ramaphosa to resign, ANC MP Phumulo Masualle voted against a full investigation into President Cyril Ramaphosa’s impeachment.
