Voicing their frustration on X (formerly Twitter) and Reddit, users are sharing that the application crashes after updating to the most recent version. For many users, the problem appears to persist even after uninstalling and reinstalling the app.
One X user shared that the app has continuously crashed since she installed the update: ‘@WhatsApp crashing continuously since the last android update…I can’t even keep the app open long enough to scan the QR code and log in through my browser.’
Another X user shared the sentiment by posting, ‘I’ve been the same since 10th Oct. I have to reinstall the app each day I want to back up or use @WhatsApp#nohelp at all.’
WhatsApp has yet to acknowledge or respond to the problem. It seems that Android users have only recently begun experiencing issues with the messaging service’s latest update.
