For the first time in over a decade, the City will revitalise the tradition of recognising exceptional individuals by awarding them with Civic Honours.

Whether responding to earthquakes in Haiti, conflicts in Syria and Yemen, or addressing floods and fires in South African townships, Gift of the Givers consistently stands as the first to arrive and the last to depart.
Cape Town’s mayor, Geordin Hill-Lewis, said it was a great joy to acknowledge the remarkable achievements of the individuals who helped make Cape Town and the rest of the world a better place.
