Housed in a bubblegum pink building on Bree Street, the studio offers comprehensive workshops where participants are equipped with all necessary materials and guided through the basics of tufting.
Each participant starts with a pre-sketched design on a fabric canvas, set up at their workspace.
The key tool? A tufting gun. This piece of equipment injects colourful yarn into the fabric, which makes the process both fun and efficient.
Under the watchful eyes of experienced tutors, participants learn the art of tufting from bottom to top, ensuring a methodical experience.
The journey from a blank canvas to a finished rug involves trimming, edge-folding and attaching a backing fabric, culminating in a professional-looking piece.
What sets Tuft Crowd apart is its celebration of individuality.
The studio encourages personal expression, recognising that the beauty of each rug lies in its unique imperfections.
Tuft Crowd caters to various needs, offering the perfect setting for a solitary retreat, a novel date idea, a memorable gift, or a unique party experience.
The studio also hosts private events and corporate gatherings.
The studio offers sessions at different price points:
- Small Workshop (50 x 50cm): R960 per station
- Standard Workshop (70 x 70cm): R1400 per station
