The arrests were effected in Goodwood and Blue Downs. As investigations unfold, the detectives have set their sights on another suspect.
The shooting incident is alleged to have occurred in NY 137, Gugulethu, on Monday afternoon. Reports at the disposal of police indicate the victims were in a vehicle about to drop off someone when another vehicle with occupants emerged and several shots were fired.
As a consequence, three people died from the first vehicle and a third one was taken to a medical facility after sustaining serious injuries.
‘Since the incident occurred provincial serious violent crime detectives have been hard at work in pursuit of the perpetrators of the act,’ said SAPS spokesperson Brigadier Novela Potelwa. ‘Early on Wednesday morning the detectives with crime intelligence pounced on the suspects at different locations.’

Meanwhile, the prompt response of police members in the execution of their duties led to the arrest of three suspects on Tuesday on charges of possession of an unlicensed firearm and ammunition, as well as dealing and possession of drugs.
Elsies River police members were busy with a tracing operation when they noticed an unknown man loitering near Bestenbier Street in Balvenie. When the members approached him, he immediately became restless and tried to drop an object hidden underneath his clothes. The members brought the man under control, searched him and confiscated a 9mm Luger pistol with ammunition. They detained the 33-year-old man on charges of possession of an unlicensed firearm and ammunition.
In an unrelated incident, police members of Operation Restore conducted high-density patrols near the corners of Spine and Jaftha K Masemola Roads in Khayelitsha. They searched an informal trader and confiscated a consignment of drugs and cash, which resulted in the arrest of the 48-year-old man on a charge of dealing in drugs.
The members then proceeded to Cangu Street, Harare, to verify the suspect’s address, where they confiscated another consignment of drugs and, in the process, detained a 46-year-old woman on a charge of possession of drugs.
Once charged, the suspects are expected to make their respective court appearances in the Goodwood and Khayelitsha Magistrates’ Courts on the mentioned charges.
