Sister Booth (49), who lives in Muizenberg, said she finds her motivation in nurturing and caring for others a sentiment that propelled her participation in Mrs South Africa.
‘I knew that this would be a stepping stone to get involved in community work involving empowering young women.
‘I applied to join the Mrs South Africa programme because it teaches women to be independent and to be the woman they were intended to be and not to be scared of what other people think of them.’
Outside of her profession, Sister Booth finds solace in dress-making and actively participates in her church community in Lavender Hill.
The pageant, designed for women aged 25 to 55, aims to challenge participants and foster personal growth, as highlighted by Mrs South Africa CEO Joani Johnson.
With Sister Booth among the 104 semi-finalists, she appeals for support to cover essential expenses such as transportation and accommodation. Those willing to assist can reach out via email at [email protected] or by sending an SMS with ‘Tash Booth’ to 47587 by Wednesday, 3 July, to aid her journey towards securing a spot among the top 30 finalists.
