The South African Weather Service has issued a Yellow level 4 warning for severe thunderstorms in parts of the Western Cape and Namaqua. These storms are predicted to start on Friday evening and are expected to subside by Sunday.

The Cape Winelands, Central Karoo and the interior of Namakwa are expected to experience severe thundershowers, resulting in rapid downpours (20 – 40mm), excessive lightning, strong downdraft and well as large amounts of hail.
