The Bellville Specialised Commercial Crimes Court convicted an accused for fraud, theft, forgery and uttering on Monday, 25 March, according to a recently released SAPS media statement.
It was alleged that Virginia Dawn Wilscot (60) made ‘misrepresentations to the victims’ that she was an agent registered to buy vehicles and houses that were to be auctioned off during the period of 2012 to 2017.

She presented fictitious and altered documents about houses and vehicles that were supposed to be auctioned off to the victims.
The victims of Wilscot suffered a loss of approximately R3 million after they made payments to her bank account for services that ‘were never delivered’.
This was soon reported to the Hawks’ Bellville-based Serious Commercial Crime Investigation team for probing.
Wilscot was eventually found guilty on ’20 counts of fraud, one count of theft and eight counts of forgery and uttering’, and has been an awaiting trial prisoner since September 2017.
She is due to be sentenced, with the matter being postponed to 12 April 2024.
