Landslides and fallen trees have left the Skeleton Gorge hiking trail above Kirstenbosch National Botanical Garden dangerous after the recent storm.
Taking to social media, WSAR warned that it may be unsafe to attempt the trail in its current state, urging all mountain users to consider avoiding the Skeleton Gorge trail, until critical repairs have been completed.
The Nursery Ravine hiking trail, to the south of Skeleton Gorge, can be used as an alternative.
‘Please help us by sharing the #IAmWildernessSafe campaigns to increase outdoor safety awareness,’ posted the WSAR.
‘Ensure that you have saved the critical emergency contact number – 021 937 0300 and remember to call us sooner.’
