The South African Weather Service has predicted a 60% chance of rainfall for Cape Town on Friday. Most of the country’s coastline will also receive scattered showers.

Cape Town is still in the grips of the worst drought in decades. Level 6B water restrictions have been enforced since February 2018, allowing locals to use only 50 litres of water per person, per day.

Currently the Western Cape dams levels sit at 21.8% full. Any rain will be appreciated by locals.

Weather on Friday is expected to be mild with scattered showers over the Western Cape coastal interior and Garden Route.

A 30% chance of rain has also been forecast for Limpopo, Mpumalanga, northern North West and extreme northern part of Gauteng on Friday.
