Don’t miss this ultimate sustainable market experience, because there possibly won’t be another one like this for quite a while. On 29 May, the @vegangoodsmarket and @thriftfest will be bringing you the final Vegan Goods Market before they close until further notice.
The Vegan Goods Market occurs every second and last Sunday of the month. This is a welcoming and inclusive gathering of people and vendors where shoppers can easily buy vegan, eco-friendly and cruelty-free food, drinks, and other products from a wonderful variety of small businesses. In collaboration with Thrift Fest, Vegan Thrift Markets will also be present to add to people’s sustainable shopping experience with their curated selection of thrift and hand-made goods.
In a post on their social media, the Vegan Goods Market explained what lies behind their decision to close for a while:
“As we are all aware, the word has changed since 2020, and veganism is becoming more mainstream with vegan foods and eat-out options easily available to all.
“The need for an exclusive vegan market is changing and this is reflecting in our financial status, which is not looking good. We have reached a fork/obstacle in the road and need to choose the way forward. One path envisages continuing with the market, but in a different, more sustainable way. The other path looks like a dead-end where the market as it has been till now, ceases completely,” it reads on Facebook.
The Vegan Goods Market will be taking this break to “reflect and choose the right path going forward”. They are grateful for the support they’ve received from all their guests.
“Thank you to each and every one of you, who have been on this journey with us this far, through rain, storms and plenty of sunshine.
“We appreciate and love you all,” concludes the post.
At this final event of the season, shoppers can expect a wide variety of delicious vegan food and beverages, home and body products that are local, handcrafted and cruelty-free, and a bar with vegan-friendly wines and beers. There will also be supervised play stations and games for the kiddies, animal adoption and fostering opportunities, and lots of shade and seating from which visitors can appreciate the beautiful views of the surrounding mountains and vineyards. Ample parking facilities will be available. And last but not least, expect all the good vibes that normally comes with The Vegan Goods Market!
Make this a full-family outing by also bringing your pups along, but please abide to the market’s rules to make your furry companion’s visit a good experience for everyone. Check out their Instagram highlights to know more about the rules.
Many visitors to the market will sorely miss the wholesome environment and goods that The Vegan Goods Market have offered up until now. Go show your support one last time this Sunday 29 May, 10am to 3pm.
