The Castle of Good Hope Museum
The Castle of Good Hope, locally known as ‘The Castle,’ is a 17th-century bastion fort in Cape Town. Originally situated on the Table Bay coastline, the fort has been relocated a short distance inland within the Central Business District due to reclamation.
Declared a historical monument in 1936, it is now a provincial heritage site. Following restoration work in the 1980s, it stands as the best-preserved example of a 17th-century architectural structure worldwide.

The District Six Museum
District Six was initially known as the Sixth Municipal District of Cape Town in 1867. Its earlier unofficial title, Kanaldorp, is derived from the canals that crisscross the city, some needing crossing to access the District (‘kanaal’ being Afrikaans for ‘canal’).
The ‘Hands Off District Six’ conference in 1988 paved the way for the District Six Museum Foundation’s creation in 1989. The Foundation worked towards establishing the museum, officially launched on 10 December 1994, featuring its inaugural exhibition, ‘Streets: Retracing District Six.’

The Drakenstein Lion Park
The Drakenstein Lion Park serves as a sanctuary for distressed lions, offering them a haven free from abuse and persecution. Nestled in the picturesque Cape Winelands, the park spans 50 acres of sprawling lion habitat.
Thanks to this, the park provides a lifelong home for these animals and collaborates with other animal welfare organizations to secure a safe future for those in dire need.
The park is not involved in commercial breeding or trade. Every resident, captive-bred or hand-reared, brought to the park can not be rehabilitated to the wild. Here, visitors can camp among the surrounding wildlife and even ‘adopt’ a wild animal by contributing to the park’s efforts.
