On Monday, 2 January 2023, Cape Town experienced a true scorcher of a day with the temperature reaching 38°C in Paarl and not even a slight breeze to cut through the heat.
The Drakenstein Farm Watch fire and rescue team brought some relief to the rural communities on request from community leaders in the Amstelhof and Magnolia area to assist with some cooling down as most locals do not have access to swimming pools or water fun.
Three DFW 4×4 fire trucks simultaneously unleashed a cooling shower upon a happy community over various areas.
“We thank Drakenstein Municipality and De Leeuwenhof Hotel ( DFW headquarters) for supplying the water and materials and further our DFW fire commanders who offered their leisure time to comfort others.”
“Positive thinking and volunteer community welfare actions bring our communities together.”
