The power of music was on full display at the recent Bridges for Music Gala Dinner and Auction, where the event raised an impressive R1.2 million for the Bridges Academy in Langa.
The annual event, which is in its 10th year, brought together musicians, fans and distinguished guests in support of the important work being done by Bridges for Music.
Partnering with ULTRA South Africa, the evening was a true celebration of the creative arts. The event featured special appearances by ULTRA headliners GoldFish, Fisher and Adam Beyer, as well as performances by Msaki, Kila G, Qaqamba, Indigenous Frequency Cast and Dizu Plaatjies.
The Premier of the Western Cape Alan Winde, was also in attendance, along with Bridges for Music’s own students and teachers.
The highlight of the evening was the auction, which offered attendees the chance to bid on a range of items, from art and beauty hampers to musical equipment and unforgettable experiences.
Nando’s even made a final pledge to help push the total raised to R1.2 million.
As a non-profit organisation, Bridges for Music is dedicated to empowering young talent from under-served communities. By providing access to the best resources and educational programmes available, Bridges for Music is helping to shape the future leaders of the creative industries.
