The South African Weather Service (SAWS) has issued a Yellow Level 2 weather warning for parts of the Western Cape. “Near gale force” south-easterly winds (55 to 65km/hour) are expected between Gaansbaai and Alexander from Monday afternoon until Tuesday morning.
The wind is predicted to contribute to rough and choppy sea conditions. Impacts include potential roadway disturbances from a build-up of sand, difficulty navigating at sea, and increased risk of capsizing.
