The South African Weather Service (SAWS) issued a Yellow Level 2 winds and waves weather warning for parts of the Western Cape for this weekend (10 to 11 December).
“Strong near gale force south-easterly winds with speeds between 60 to 70kph are expected along the coast between Saldanha Bay and Cape Agulhas from Saturday until Sunday. Together with south-westerly waves of 3 to 4 metres, these conditions may result in difficulty in navigation at sea.”
These conditions are expected to disrupt localised beach and water activities. Beach goers should remain cautious and avoid these areas if possible.
