Capetonian radio legend, Clarence Ford has left Heart FM on Monday, December 20 without the opportunity to say goodbye to his listeners. Ford has been bringing good music to the people of Cape Town for the past 24 years with his popular Sunday show, Me Time, which is a Sunday staple for many Capetonians.
According to reports that emerged on Sunday, December 19, the radio legend said bullying from management was at the heart of his decision to put Heart FM in the rearview mirror, with one particular incident in February being a standout.

However, Ford said in a Facebook post, “I was deluded to think that I would be granted an opportunity to say thank you. Thank you for the love and thank you for the journey,” the post read.
In the meantime, management at the station has stated that Ford‘s claims of bullying have “absolutely no truth” and that “it’s definitely not the reason for his departure.
IOL, also reported that numerous staff members have indicated that there is a “toxic work environment” at Heart FM, with many too afraid to publicly speak out as they may be victimised by management.
